Cape Agric Solutions (Pty) Ltd – Shipping & Delivery Policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2010

At Cape Agric Solutions (Pty) Ltd, we are dedicated to ensuring that our livestock and fresh agricultural produce reach you safely, securely, and in peak condition. Due to the sensitive nature of live poultry and perishable goods, we have implemented strict logistical and biosecurity protocols for all our deliveries across the Western Cape and surrounding regions.

Please read our Shipping & Delivery Policy carefully before placing your order.

1. Delivery Areas and Coverage

  • We primarily service commercial and small-scale farmers within South Africa

  • Local Deliveries: Door-to-door or farm-to-farm delivery is available for our Point of Lay hens, broiler chicks, and wholesale egg orders using our specialized, ventilated transport vehicles.

  • National Deliveries: Unfortunately, to minimize stress on the birds and ensure strict biosecurity, we do not ship live poultry across provincial borders via standard courier networks.

2. Order Processing & Lead Times

  • Live Poultry (Hens & Chicks): All livestock orders require pre-scheduling. Depending on current flock cycles, vaccinations, and stock availability, processing and scheduling can take between 3 to 10 business days. Our logistics team will contact you to confirm a precise delivery date and time window.

  • Fresh Produce & Eggs: Wholesale and bulk egg orders are typically processed and dispatched within 48 to 72 hours of payment confirmation, ensuring maximum freshness.

3. Shipping Rates & Quotations

Because agricultural deliveries vary greatly by distance and the volume of the order (e.g., 50 hens vs. 500 hens), shipping is calculated at checkout or quoted directly by our sales team.

  • Rates are determined by a per-kilometer tariff from our distribution center to your farm or business address.

  • Certain bulk orders may qualify for discounted or subsidized delivery rates.

4. Live Poultry Delivery Protocols

The welfare of our birds is our top priority. The following rules apply to all live deliveries:

  • Mandatory Presence: A designated person must be present at the delivery location at the agreed-upon time to receive, inspect, and offload the livestock immediately.

  • Failed Deliveries: If our drivers arrive and no one is available to receive the birds, the livestock will be returned to our facility to ensure their welfare. In this event, the customer will be liable for the original delivery fee, the return trip fee, and any overnight holding costs.

  • Biosecurity: To protect your farm and ours, our delivery vehicles undergo strict sanitation protocols. Our drivers will drop off at a designated bio-secure loading point on your property and are restricted from entering your operational poultry houses.

5. Collection / Pick-Up Option

Customers are welcome to collect their orders directly from our designated dispatch facility in the Western Cape.

  • By Appointment Only: Collections must be scheduled in advance. You will receive a notification and a time slot when your order is ready.

  • Transport Requirements: If you are collecting live poultry, please ensure you arrive with well-ventilated, secure, and sanitized transport crates or vehicles. We reserve the right to refuse collection if the customer's transport is deemed unsafe or inhumane for the animals.

6. Order Tracking and Communication

Due to the hands-on nature of agricultural transport, we do not use automated third-party courier tracking links. Instead, our logistics desk will remain in direct communication with you via phone or WhatsApp on the day of delivery to provide ETA updates and ensure a smooth handover.
